- Roundtable: Facilitated the county’s only ongoing, monthly meeting of regional economic development leaders from each of the 10
cities, the county and other key representatives. Economic Development Roundtable participants are part of the first line of communication between businesses and local government, where each participant can share information, best practices, and their city’s challenges and successes.
- California Economic Summit: EDC-VC convened public- and private-sector stakeholders in a regional economic forum, providing input on statewide priorities for promoting economic recovery and vitality. The regional forum informed the goals of a larger California Economic Summit, which focused on opportunities for growth and improvement in the areas of advanced manufacturing, access to capital, housing, infrastructure, regulations and workforce.
- Forums: Developed and participated in forums that informed business leaders on the varied resources available to their companies. Forums included partnerships with Ventura County’s cities, Workforce Investment Board of Ventura County (WIB), Small Business Administration, SCORE, California Manufacturing Technology Consulting, Women’s Economic Ventures and several others.
- Broadband Initiative: EDC-VC organized a tri-county initiative to improve access to high-speed communication and data-transmission capacity, as part of our efforts to ensure businesses have the infrastructure essential for competing in the 21st century economy. The effort is resulting in a new regional coalition of stakeholders from a broad spectrum of public and private interests, including public safety, health care, education, communications and others.
