EDC-VC’s Small Business Development Center of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties was recently awarded the Small Business Development Center International Excellence Award by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Los Angeles District Office and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. The district-wide award honors one of the 12 local SBDCs for implementing innovative programs and actively developing counseling staff to advance opportunities for area businesses interested in international trade development.
Ray Bowman, SBDC director of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, accepted the award May 17 at the 2017 National Small Business Week Awards Luncheon, held at the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City.
“SBA is pleased to recognize the EDC-VC’s Small Business Development Center for the excellent level of service they provide to businesses in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties interested in tapping the international marketplace,” said Los Angeles District Director Victor Parker. “Under the leadership of Bruce Stenslie and Ray Bowman, the EDC-VC’s strong team of advisors and experienced staff provide guidance to businesses here and abroad, helping them navigate a variety of needs including permitting, marketing, process improvement and exporting.”
The Awards were part of a month-long celebration of small business, starting with the 54th Annual Celebration of National Small Business Week at the start of May.
